The fee that surprises Depop sellers
Depop removed its 10% US selling commission in July 2024, so many sellers assume sales are nearly free. The Depop Payments processing fee — 3.3% + $0.45 on the order total including shipping you charge — is the real cost on every sale, and the $0.45 flat piece stings most on cheap items. A $10 sale with $5 shipping loses about $0.95 to processing alone.
Boosted Listings: the 12% question
Depop's Boosted Listings charge about 12% of the item price, but only when the sale is attributed to the boost. If you boost everything, treat 12% as a cost of goods; if you boost selectively, compare boosted vs organic profit per listing with the checkbox above.
Pricing rule of thumb
Because processing applies to shipping charged, raising your shipping charge to “make shipping free” costs you 3.3% of that shipping. Price the item, not the shipping trick.
